Why is it called T-shirt?
The origins of the T-shirt date back to the late 19th century, when it was first worn as an undergarment by men working in the hot, sweaty conditions of the U.S. Navy. The shirt was designed to be lightweight and comfortable, and it soon became a popular item of clothing for working men. It wasn’t until the early 20th century that the T-shirt became a fashion staple, when it was adopted by Hollywood stars like Marlon Brando and James Dean.
The T-shirt’s simple design and versatility soon made it a wardrobe essential for both men and women. Today, the T-shirt is one of the most popular items of clothing in the world, with billions being sold every year. And it all started with those humble beginnings as an undershirt for Navy seamen.
