A private equity group, Advent International, bought Livingbridge’s stake in FatFace in 2005 and rebranded the company.

Bridgepoint Capital bought Fat Face for £360 million in 2007, making Slade and Leaver a profit of £90 million on the deal. Bridgepoint had to write off half of the company’s value because of the Great Recession’s impact on revenues. Although sales rebounded in 2010 and 2011[9], Fat Face returned to a small profit in the following year.[10] This plan to raise $110 million by floating a quarter of Bridgepoint on the London Stock Exchange in 2014 was cancelled when investors indicated a lack of confidence in the company’s future.

As of March, Liz Evans is the new CEO, after Anthony Thompson, who stepped down. Prior to Oasis/Warehouse, Evans served as CEO. Taking over as chairman of FatFace from Alan Giles, who had been chairman since 2007, Bridgepoint appointed Stuart Rose, a former Marks and Spencer Chief Executive, in 2013. After paying a $2 million ransom to cyber thieves working for Conti in January 2021, Fat Face informed customers and workers in March 2021 that they’d been the target of a ransomware attack.
