We were founded in York in 1971 by Catherine Paver, an ambitious mother to be proud of, who took out a £200 bank loan (she told them it was for a sofa!) to fund her new business passion to find the perfect style for everyone’s feet. We are still going strong today.
It all started out small, with sales at village halls and house parties, but it was through her determination to find and sell shoes that fit well and look great that our company began to take off and expand. Her sons Graham, Stuart (Managing Director), and Ian have all contributed to the development of the family business and the desire, drive, and passion to be a leader in high-quality comfort footwear that is fashionable and trendy at the same time.
Our company, PaversUK, has grown to become one of the leading comfort shoe retailers in the United Kingdom, with a focus on high-quality products at an affordable price. We started with a shop in Scarborough, and then expanded to York, Hull, and Newcastle shortly after.
You can now find us in over 130 stores across the UK and Ireland, offering our own comfort range as well as popular brands such as Fly Flot, Skechers, Padders and many more. We’ve grown and grown, and our dedicated buying team now travels to the far reaches of the world to source our fantastic footwear. For the fashion-conscious, we also have our Bellissimo brand, which encompasses the latest trends of the season and features the most sought-after designs, ensuring that you find your perfect look!

The PaversUK Foundation was established in 2018 to commemorate the life and legacy of our beloved founder, Cathy Paver, and to carry on her work.
