In 1995, GEHE AG acquired AAH plc (the leading pharmaceutical wholesaler in the United Kingdom), and in 1997, the company acquired Lloyds Chemists PLC, which at the time had 902 pharmacies in the United Kingdom. AAH’s 350-strong Hills Pharmacy network joined forces with AAH to form a combined group with over 1,250 pharmacies in total.
